Social dancing outdoors (in June and August)
In the summertime we have our social dance outdoors on Aker Brygge – the city’s beautiful boardwalks, overlooking the fjord, city hall and Akershus castle. We have also started dancing on musikkpavaljongen. Please check the calendar for where we will be dancing!
New! Dancing at Birkelunden park (Grünerløkka) one Sunday per month during the summer. Check our calendar for dates!
Social dancing indoors (from September to May)
In the colder seasons the social dance is held indoors every Tuesday. The venue is either Bårdar Danseinstitutt, BLS or Kulturhuset.
Please check our calendar for time and place!
The addresses are:
Bårdar Danseinstitutt, Rosenkrantz’ gate 22, 0160 Oslo.
Kulturhuset, Youngs gate 6, 0181 Oslo.
BLS, Nordahl Bruns gate 22, 0165 Oslo
How to get here
FROM THE AIRPORT (GARDERMOEN)
When you arrive at Oslo Airport Gardermoen, take the airport express train to Oslo central station or to Nationaltheateret. When exiting Oslo central station, you will find yourself at Jernbanetorget – the city’s main public transit nexus. From there, you can take the tram as described below. If you take the train to Nationaltheateret instead, it is just a three-minute walk from the station.
GET THERE BY TRAM OR METRO
Jernbanetorget, right outside Oslo central station, is the main transit interchange and starting point for most adventurers in Oslo. To get to Bårdar Danseinstitutt, find the where tram number 12 leaves towards Majorstuen, and take it to Rådhusplassen. Bårdar Danseinstitutt is just 50 meters up Rosenkrantz gate from the tram stop.
Tickets for the tram can be bought on board, or cheaper at any kiosk in the central station.
The closest metro (T-bane) station is Stortinget. All T-bane lines stop there.
GET THERE BY FOOT
Bårdar Danseinstitutt is situated in the heart of Oslo, a ten minute walk from Oslo central station («Oslo S»), or three minutes from the National Theatre («Nationaltheatret»). With a map of the city or a GPS unit, finding us shouldn’t be a problem. The street address is «Rosenkrantz’ gate 22″, quite close to Rådhusplassen.
GET THERE BY CAR
This is a difficult one. The tricky part is to find a parking space in the centre of Oslo.
